Every year there are a few hidden gems in the game, that within a few years become world class superstars, but with the improvement of manager mode and players actually increasing in overall properly in this year’s instalment of FIFA, the pool for talent to turn your team into a team of future world-beaters is larger, and much more fun.
The highest potentials amongst the under 25s on the game come from Lionel Messi, with a potential rating of 96, and Eden Hazard with a potential rating of 92. Joint third are Mario Gotze, Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. and Hugo Lloris who all have a potential rating of 91. It is quite obvious how much talent and potential these five players have, however they will already cost you a fair bit to buy on the game anyway, so they will not be ideal buys for most clubs, let alone lower league clubs.
For the lower league clubs there are some incredible talents that could be picked up for literally next to nothing, due to the low starting overalls. However these three players have the highest potential growth on the game, and their names are Scott Fraser of Dundee United, Adam Campbell (Newcastle United) and Dario Del Fabro (Cagliari). Del Fabro starts with an overall of 54 that can rise to 80, a growth of 26, Campbell starts at 50, which could rise to an overall of 77, a growth of 27, and Fraser who starts the game as a 46 overall can reach a 79 overall, a staggering 33 point growth.
The two top potentials for English players go to Jack Wilshere with a potential of 90, and Joe Hart with a potential of 86, which is a fair reflection of two of England’s most exciting prospects. However in terms of cheap players that will prosper, Jack Butland of Birmingham City fits the bill as a keeper with a 69 overall, that can reach 85, Luke Shaw, a 16 year old left back of Southampton that could potentially go from a rating of 58 to 83, alongside fellow Southampton youngster James Ward-Prowse that could go from 64 to 84. 17 year old Raheem Sterling of Liverpool can grow from 69 to 84, the same as Birmingham City’s Nathan Redmond.
