Loic Remy: A perfect replacement for Demba Ba (Video)
With speculation continuing to mount regarding the future of Newcastle United front-man Demba Ba, it is essential the Magpies secure a replacement of his ilk in order to fill the void, should he depart St. James’ Park over January or in the summer.
Without the goals of the Senegalese striker, Newcastle would certainly be in more perilous position than they currently find themselves in. Nevertheless, the man being linked with a possible move to Tyneside is more the suitable to fill the void that may be left by Ba.
Loic Remy has regularly been linked with a move to the Premiership, most notably with league rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The Frenchman may not have been in the most impressive form for Marseille this season, having netted just twice in 12 games, but his ability still renders him one of the more deadly strikers in Europe.
A move in January, unless Ba leaves, may not be a possibility, but when it comes to replacing a player of the Senegal international’s ilk, Remy is certainly the man to fill his boots. Good in the air and with the ball at his feet, the 25-year-old would without doubt be a welcome addition to the Premiership and, most notably, to Newcastle.
