Liverpool and Newcastle United are both keen on securing the services of Reading keeper Alex McCarthy. According to The Daily Mail, both clubs will act upon their strong interest within the summer transfer window, in hope of landing the 23 year old. McCarthy, a product of the club's youth system, has recently ousted Australian Adam Federici as the club’s first choice keeper and made 9 Premier League appearances to date.

It has been reported in the Metro today that newly promoted Cardiff City will look to bring former Liverpool attacker Dirk Kuyt back to the Premiership just one year after departing to Fenerbahçe. The 32 year old Kuyt left for Turkey In June of last year for a fee of £1 million pounds, and has enjoyed a fairly good first season with the Europa league semi-finalists making 27 appearances and netting seven times.

Manchester City fans were left devastated by the news that Kolo Toure will be leaving the Etihad Stadium this summer. The Ivorian defender confirmed to Sky Sports that he doesn’t envisage being at the club next season, ’in two months nothing his come from the club and I am thinking about my future definitely.’ The loss of Toure’s footballing abilities may not be of primary concern to fans of the Manchester club, their overwhelming worry may lie in the redundant future of the ’Kolo, Kolo, Yaya, Yaya’ chant.

The Sun suggests that David Moyes is ready to go head to head with Roberto Mancini, having earmarked the 19-year-old as a priority in this upcoming transfer window. Celtic are set to renew attempts to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle. The Evening Times state that Neil Lennon will move to sign the Irish international in the summer months. The Glasgow club tried to sign Doyle in January but were knocked back by the midlands club, who face a tense battle against a consecutive relegation to NPower League One.

Sky Sports have reported that Bolton captain Kevin Davies has been discussing a potential move to Major League Soccer (MLS). The soon to be departed striker is said to have been in talks with Canadian outfit Toronto FC, now managed by former Blackburn, Tottenham and QPR defender Ryan Nelsen. Toronto are struggling in the early stages of the MLS Eastern Conference, with just 7 points from 7 matches.
