Liverpool Football club are having a torrid time of things as it stands and it has certainly been a baptism of fire for new manager Brendan Rogers. He has however come back at pundits to defend his players when criticised by pundits.
Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer has criticised midfielder Joe Allen for being too safe in possession and failing to really attack defences.
Brendan Rogers argues that this is an unfair portrayal of how his Liverpool team operates and that for a midfielder to keep the ball is a rare talent. Liverpool’s rebuilding process seems to have some way to go as the club lies 14th with six points out of seven games this campaign.
