Brendan Rodgers is having a bit of a ‘mare regarding his attacking options at Liverpool at the moment, with Luis Suarez his only option in front of goal.
According to Sky Sports, Rodgers sees Gary Hooper as a prime candidate to fill the Fernando Torres-sized gap which has yet to be filled since his departure in 2011, but Celtic boss Neil Lennon has been quick to dismiss reports of his talisman leaving the club.
New-boy Fabio Borini has been ruled out until at least the New Year due to a broken foot, although the Kop will hardly notice his absence as he is yet to score a league goal for the Reds, and before Andy Carroll could say ‘neigh’, Rodgers had transported him down to London where he is now getting footballs hoofed to him on the regular at West Ham, however the move has left Liverpool extremely feeble up-front.
Expect a scurry of activity at Anfield as Rodgers looks to add some goals into his squad.
John Carew is availailable…
