In news that will be of absolute surprise to no one, Manchester City have joined the race to sign Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian striker, who scored 36 goals last year and a sizzling hat-trick against Chelsea in the Super Cup, is sought after by many of europe's top clubs and it was only a matter of time until Man City joined the chase.
City manager Roberto Mancini reportedly flew to Spain to watch Atletico beat Malaga over the weekend and get a first hand look at the £45 million striker. Mancini has the financial resources to woo Falcao to England but Manchester United and Chelsea are also in contention for his signature.
Falcao has stated that he could 'one day' play in England but the striker is reportedly very happy at Atletico having lead them to Europa League glory last season and current joint top sport in La Liga.
