West Ham midfielder, Mohamed Diame looks set to be the target of a bid from Arsenal in January according to the Daily Mail. The Senagalese midfielder, who has been in excellent form this season, has a £3.5 million buy out clause in his contract. Sam Allardyce will be desperate to hang on to him though. Much of what has been going right for West Ham this season has been going through Diame.
Diame had to come off in the game against Liverpool with an injury. It was originally thought that the injury would keep him out for several months but the length of his lay-off has been revised and he could be back on the pitch this year. It was thought that had the injury been more serious Wenger would have been put off but now it appears that Diame is very much back on the Arsenal manager's radar. With much criticism being levelled at the flimsy nature of Arsenal's midfielder Diame could be the perfect candidate to add some grit and steel to Arsene Wenger's squad.
Diame has played for Linares, Rayo Vallecano and Wigan. He represented Senegal at the Olympics but won't be jetting off to South Africa for the African Cup of Nations next year as Senegal have been banned.
