The Oscar is usually a glitzy and glamorous award and this current one, which is plucking some of the inches in the gossip pages over the summer, is no different. And the winner is.......... actually nobody knows as the transfer saga of Internacional's promising midfielder Oscar rumbles on.
The two clubs reportedly nominated for the Brazilian are Chelsea and Tottenham having both been linked by the Daily Mail, but it's the boys in blue who have made the first move according to Sky Sports, after tabling a bid just short of £20 million.
The 20 year old attacking midfielder is seen as one of the brightest lights to emerge from Brazil's famed talent stream over the past few years and his hat-trick in the FIFA under-20 World Cup Final announced his precocious talent to the world.
Now a proposed move to the Premier League beckons for the wonderkid who has hit 18 goals in 2 years for Internacional, a fertile tally for a midfielder, and even though the Daily Mail have prematurely announced his actual signing for Chelsea, it seems like the race is still on for the exciting prospect.
However, despite Oscar himself telling Globo Esporte that he wished to remain in sunny Brazil with Internacional, it seems like any such words have not cooled Chelsea's interest in the midfielder as they bid to add him to a summer of multi-million pound signings including Marko Marin and Eden Hazard.
The player's agent has also told Neto, as reported by Sky, that he expects his client to agree terms with the Stamford Bridge club over the next few days, so the move is on, despite the player saying it is off.
