Manchester City Manager Roberto Mancini is becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of transfer activity at the Etihad stadium and is doing what any man would do – blame someone else.
The polished Italian is blaming sporting director Brian Marwood for the lack of new faces in the blue half of Manchester and has also admitted he doesn't like the management structure at City.
Mancini has been allowed to play a real life version of Championship Manager but surely even he knew that the Billionaire owners of Manchester City would not spend millions upon millions every summer? These guys are very successful business people, how do you think they made their billions in the first place?
Yes, they gave Mancini a open cheque book for a period of time - they had to in order to kick start their title challenge and get the playing squad up to speed. But did Mancini expect this never to end? Is that why he signed his new contract?
I still don't understand his infatuation with Mario Balotelli, who Mancini claims has been the subject of intense interest since the end of last season. Was it from the police by any chance Roberto?
The best thing that happened to Manchester City was Ballotelli's sending off at Arsenal towards the climax of last season. It gave the team a fresh impetus with the returning Carlos Tevez. And yes, I know Super Mario set up Sergio Aguero's championship winning strike, but quite how Mancini still has a full head of hair is beyond me.
Sporting director, Marwood wants to offload fringe players before sanctioning new signings which has left Mancini a little miffed. He has been trying to offload two of former boss Mark Hughes signings for the last couple of seasons. Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor have so far resisted the urge of leaving their bumper pay packets behind.
How's that for loyalty?
