Manchester City are ready to re-enter the transfer market this summer, as they wait to discover the full extent of Sergio Aguero’s injury.
The Argentina international was stretchered off during the Citizens 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday after just six minutes.
Early indications suggested Aguero faced up to six months on the sidelines, reports the striker was quick to play down.
The City striker will go for a scan on Monday to discover how long he will be out for, a blow to the club following his 30 goal haul last season.
Speculation suggests that the Premier League champions will move for Fiorentina’s Stefan Jovetic as they look to compensate for the loss of Aguero.
The young Serbia star has been attracting interest from Chelsea and Juventus for much of the summer, but both could be trumped by City should they move for the 22-year-old.
