Robin van Persie's replacement could very well be former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, as the Sun are suggesting Wenger wants to bring him to north London from Shangai.
The internal struggle at Drogba's Shanghai Shenhua has been highlighted in the press in recent weeks and Drogba, and former Chelsea teammate Nicolas Anelka, may leave the club as a result.
If reports are to be believed, Drogba is being paid somewhere in the region of £200,000 a week at Shanghai. Can anyone realistically see the notoriously prudent Arsenal paying Drogba, now 34, that kind of money? No, I didn't think so and it's difficult seeing Drogba taking a major pay cut so that rules Arsenal out.
Other clubs linked with Drogba include Real Madrid and Liverpool.
