Poor Cristiano Ronaldo. Netting twice against Granada couldn’t put a smile back on your face at the beginning of the month and, as a result, the papers began linking you with a move back to England. They haven’t stopped spouting the rumours regarding a possible return to Manchester United, who sold the Portugal star the Los Blancos back in 2009.
C-Ron is reported to a have an astronomical release clause of €1bn at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, but Goal.com are claiming that the Spanish capital side are prepared to sell for a fee of around €200m; a fifth of the buy-out figure.
It’s unknown as to whether Ronaldo is still unhappy with Real, but reports suggesting the news of the iPhone 5 has convinced him to stay in Spain have thus far proved ill-founded.
