Rodgers questions Downing fight

Brendan Rodgers has questioned whether winger Stewart Downing has the necessary ‘fight’ to make it as a Liverpool player. The England international has cataclysmically failed to live up to his £20m price-tag following his move to Anfield from Aston Villa last season, where he scored just twice and created a further two in 46 games in all competitions.
The Guardian is reporting that Rodgers has grown frustrated with the 28-year-out following poor performances against Young Boys in the Europa League and in the Capital One Cup win over West Bromwich Albion.
Downing has lost his place to Raheem Sterling in the starting XI, with the 17year-old impressing this season, and Rodgers has now insinuated that the winger could be set for a January move unless he ups his performances.
