Owen to Stoke, the saga is over

In one of the more protracted summer transfer sagas, there are reports confirming that free agent Michael Owen has finally signed with someone and that someone is Stoke City Football Club.

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United man has played sporadically over the past year or so but claims he is ready to make a contribution. Despite the large amount of hype that surrounded a possible move for Owen back to Anfield following Liverpool's disastrous deadline day, the 32 year old has decided to join Tony Pulis' side.

It is a curious addition by Pulis as it appears he only signs players who are 6 foot and over but Owen will pair up with beanstalk Peter Crouch as Stoke try to notch up their first win of the season following three consecutive draws.
