A surprise transfer when it initially happened Loic Remy will surely move on this summer, but, what club will have him and stump up the cash?
When Harry Redknapp signed just one of his three major striking transfer targets in January (Remy, Crouchy, and, of course, Peter Odemwingie) he was a little bit disappointed. Still, he was pretty excited at the arrival of the prolific Frenchman, and rightly so. He proceeded to loan out another Frenchman, Djibril Cisse, for the rest of the season. This left him with 5 fit senior strikers (with Andy Johnson being ruled out for more or less the rest of the season), 3 of whom were actually part of Redknapp's major plans for the campaign. They were Loic Remy, Jamie Mackie, and Bobby Zamora. DJ Campbell and Jay Bothroyd also feature in the 25-man squad, but they are more for emergency cover and squad rotation than anything else.
Its fair to say Peter Odemwingie is probably short on friends right now, however if he is on the look out for a friendly he should look no further than Harry Redknapp who according to TEAMtalk has been quick to defend the Nigerian that he so desperately wanted to sign on deadline day.
QPR manager Harry Redknapp has signed a fantastic replacement for Ryan Nelsen in 6'4" centre-half Christopher Samba. As Redknapp rightly said, "he's (Samba) great in the air, quick, a leader, strong, fantastic in both boxes, hard as nails. He's a proper centre-half". But in bringing the player to Loftus Road, the Englishman not only forked out a £12.5 million transfer fee, but presented the player with £100k-a-week wages!
The craziness of Peter Odemwingie livened up a relatively quiet transfer deadline day, but the striker’s actions could have severe consequences back at the Hawthorns.
Kieron Dyer’s career has been hampered by injuries, but the former England midfielder may be given another chance in the Championship.
