Norwich Sacking Hughton Is A BIG Risk, But Could This Be Why He Got The Boot?

Norwich City face an uphill battle to ensure their Premier League survival, a battle which they will fight without Chris Hughton at the helm. A very risky move in my opinion.

With only five league games remaining, the Norwich City board have sacked their manager as the Canaries are hovering just above to relegation zone, with one win in their last six games.

There is no doubt it has been an inconsistent season for Hughton, but to leave it so late in the season to sack him seems strange. Especially, replacing him with Neil Adams, an Under 18 coach.

Although, they sit five points above the relegation zone, their remaining fixtures will not inspire much confidence. With Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal all to play.

It is clear that their closest danger is Fulham, who they face on Saturday and perhaps the higher-ups at Norwich see this as the last real chance to pick up some points.

I understand that teams experience a short-term boost when a new face comes in, but with so many top teams to play, Hughton’s experience could have come in handy.

When you look at it objectively, a manager has been sacked in order to win the next game. Is that unfair?

I believe it is, but I understand the pressure Norwich as a football club are under, because staying in the Premier League is everything.
