Manchester City are rumoured to be considering the prospect of bringing in Jose Mourinho to the club in the summer.
The Portuguese tactician has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid after a rumoured falling out with the fans and board.
Mourinho recently admitted he is keen to return to England and has been mooted as a possible successor to Arsene Wenger or Harry Redknapp, at Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.
City currently lead the Premiership by three points, but following early exits in the Champions League and the FA Cup, coupled with the semi-final Carling Cup loss to Liverpool, manager Roberto Mancini is rumoured to have come under increased pressure to succeed.
But, the Citizens now believe Mourinho is the man to bring unprecedented success to the Etihad Stadium.
The former Chelsea manager has won the Champions League twice, for FC Porto and Inter Milan, and chairman Sheikh Mansour wants the 49-year-old to bring similar success to the Premier League pace setters.
