U19 Champions League to be staged

Uefa have announced that they will stage an Under 19 shadow Champions League competition from 2013.

The tournament appears to have been set up to limit the influence of the NextGen series, which last year included Barcelona, Internazionale, Juventus, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.

The latest brainchild of Uefa will feature the U19 teams of the 32 clubs that qualify. The make up will be the same as the Champions League, except the knock out phase ties will be one legged.
