Centre half snubs Spanish giants to stay at Gunners

An Arsenal defender has revealed he snubbed big name interest to remain at the Emirates.

Laurent Koscielny signed a new, five-year deal at Arsenal last week but has revealed he turned down interest from Barcelona to stay at the club.

The central defender said that he wanted to stay at the Gunners to continue learning under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger.

Despite a dodgy start at the club, Koscielny has blossomed into Arsenal's best defender last season.

The defender said that interest from the Catalan club was flattering but he is happy in North London and praised the group of players he works with.
