Hull target Arsenal keeper

Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone is the target of a possible loan move by Hull City with Tigers boss Steve Bruce keen to hold talks with Arsene Wenger over a deal.

Bruce is in the market for a new goalkeeper and a move for Aston Villa’s shotstopper Brad Guzan has fallen through after he decided to stay at Villa Park.

The 24-year-old Mannone has been on loan at the KC Stadium in two spells, making 23 appearances for the club last season.

Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail: “Vito's obviously done very well here by all accounts but we'll speak with Mr Wenger when he returns from his holiday next week. I like the boy but we'll have to see what the situation is."

Mannone has struggled to break into the first team at Arsenal since joining the club in 2005, making only 11 appearances for the club in all competitions in that time.
