Arsenal man stays, for now

Arsenal have reached a short-term agreement with Theo Walcott to ensure the winger is not sold this week, it is being reported.

Walcott has held meetings with Arsene Wenger this week to discuss his future and after failing to agree a new contract with the club, Arsenal had appeared ready to sell the England man who has one year left on his contract.

Manchester City were ready to make a late bid for Walcott but will now be deterred by news that the 23 year old will remain at the Emirates whilst negotiations over a new deal are ongoing.
