Adam Gray Liverpool are hoping to complete a loan move for Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge it is believed, as Brendan Rodgers looks for a replacement for Andy Carroll, who joined West Ham in a temporary move of his own.
Sturridge may find first team opportunities at Chelsea hard to come by following the arrivals of Eden Hazard and Oscar at Stamford Bridge, so Anfield is the likely destination as Rodgers holds off interest from Arsenal to land the England international who will provide versatility in attack.
However, some media outlets are reporting such a deal hinges on Chelsea's pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen winger Andre Schurrle with a deal in the pipeline to take the German to Stamford Bridge to ease the loss of Sturridge, who Rodgers remains "confident" of landing.
