Zenit scupper striker move

Chelsea have been dealt a blow in the race to sign FC Porto striker Hulk with Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg prepared to offer £40m for the Brazilian.

The Blues had hoped to have had a deal wrapped up for the 25-year-old before this weekend’s Community Shield, but are yet to meet the Portuguese side’s valuation for the front-man.

They now look set to miss out on Hulk, who they believe is worth nothing more than £30m, and are set to press ahead with a move for Wigan Athletic youngster Victor Moses.
